CHADRON – The Chadron State College Music Department has announced its Spring 2019 schedule of events.

The first program will consist of mostly original jazz-influenced music performed by the Bill Molenhof Trio Monday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium. Molenhof, a percussionist, will perform with his wife, pianist and vocalist, Gabriela Guala, and bassist Joy Harris.

The following day, Tuesday, Feb. 5, students from 22 regional high schools will present the annual High Plains Band and Choir Festival Final Concert at 5 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium. The concert features the Honor Band and Honor Choir directed by Dr. John Wojcik and Dr. Joel Schreuder, respectively.

Assistant professor Dr. Brooks Hafey and guest performers James Przygocki and Blake McGee from the University of Wyoming will present a chamber music concert Saturday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium. The program, with Hafey on piano, Przygocki on viola, and McGee on clarinet, will include works by Mozart, Bruch, and American composer Lowell Liebermann.

Music faculty and staff will perform as soloists and in small ensembles at a Faculty Recital Saturday, March 23, at 3 p.m. in the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium.

One day later, music students will perform solos during the Honors Recital Sunday, March 24, at 3 p.m. in the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium

Other performance and dates include the CSC Wind Symphony and Community Band performance Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium, under the direction of Wojcik.

The Concert Choir and Community Chorus will perform Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium, under the direction of Schreuder.

The final performance of the semester is the CSC Jazz Band and Vocal Jazz concert Tuesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium, under the direction of Dr. Michael Stephens and Schreuder, respectively.
