Ohio flutist coming to Memorial Hall

An Ohio flutist will team up with a Chadron State College music professor to present two special events in Chadron on Saturday, March 28.

Flutist Dr. Christopher Chaffee will join Chadron State College Professor Dr. James Margetts in a concert at the Chicoine Atrium of CSC's Sandoz Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Also, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., he will present a master class, which consists of a series of open lessons, to area flute players in room 104 of Memorial Hall. Both events are open to the public free of charge.

Music composed by Prokofiev, Gaubert, Mozart and Scriabin are among the pieces that will be featured during the concert. Margetts will accompany Chaffee on piano.

Chaffee is assistant professor of music at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where he teaches flute and comparative studies.

Prior to the Saturday's event, Chaffee and Margetts plan to perform in concert at Kearney.
